Our Administration & Recruitment Staff
Role: To ensure the smooth running of the arrangement of your placement, from receiving applications to arranging visas, flights and insurance.
![]() | Peter Slowe - Director Peter set up Projects Abroad in 1992. He is involved with all aspects of the business from setting up new destinations to supervising recruitment campaigns in the US and Continental Europe. |
![]() | Sue Revill - PA & Senior Administrator Sue spends the majority of her time working directly for the Managing Director, Dr. Peter Slowe. She also works closely with the Administration team, helping to ensure each volunteer application is dealt with efficiently. |
Overseas Team
![]() | Richard Clowes - Deputy Director Richard coordinates the overseas team and maintains a close contact with our overseas offices. He has to ensure that each of our overseas offices is suitably staffed. |
![]() | Greg Thomson - Operations Director Greg coordinates placements around the world, supervises the preparation of volunteers and supervises our destination staff and our IT team. He spent six months in 2004 working as Director of our Ghana programme. |
![]() | Suzi Lamb - International Development Manager Suzi liaises with our overseas teams on a daily basis and assists with overseas staff training - most recently working in Senegal, Thailand and Cambodia. She spent fifteen months working as Assistant Manager in Ghana before joining the development team in May 2004. |
![]() | Terry Thornhill - Operations Manager Terry co-ordinates administrative and communications matters in our offices around the world. He works closely with our IT team on developing our database and innovatory administrative systems. |
![]() | Elaine Wynn - International Development Officer Elaine has worked for Projects Abroad as Assistant Manager in Ghana for 6 months before moving on to work in China. She previously volunteered on a Care project in Sri Lanka in 2006. Elaine joined the UK team in September 2008 and now liaises with our overseas teams on a regular basis. |
![]() | Claire Howlett - International Development Officer Claire worked as a member of staff in Senegal, Cambodia and Tanzania before joining the UK team in April 2010. Claire graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in International Management and French in June 2007. She enjoys meeting new people and learning about different cultures. In her free time Claire likes to go swimming and watch films. |
UK Administration
![]() | Abbey Hampton - UK Travel and Administration Manager Abbey makes sure that volunteers and staff arrive in the right place at the right time by ensuring co-ordination between our recruitment and administration offices, especially for international flights used by our volunteers and staff. Abbey also helps to run our general administration in the UK. |
![]() | Serena Mitchell - UK Company Accounts Manager Serena is responsible to the Director of Finance for managing financial matters in our organisation and ensuring each overseas programme is appropriately funded. |
![]() | Karen Slowe - Human Resources Director Karen has set-up, and now manages, our travel and human resource systems. |
![]() | Antony Squires - Administrator Antony is involved in all areas of general administration, with a particular emphasis on dealing with the initial stages of your application and chasing up visas. Outside of work he divides his time between his passions for cycling, music and darts. |
Global Administration
![]() | Otgonbayar Togtuun - Director of Finance Oko is both the Director of our projects in Mongolia and the Director of Finance. Oko has spent time working in Korea and the UK. He now enjoys living back in Ulaanbaatar with his wife and three children. Having studied for his MBA in Korea, he returned home to Mongolia with his Korean wife, Sang Em. He enjoys singing and is famed for his karaoke skills. He is also the current holder of the Projects Abroad poker championship. He was 5 times gold medalist in athletics when he was a high school student. |
![]() | Usukhjargal - Finance Officer Usuhuu joined Projects Abroad in May 2006 after graduating in International Business Administration from Computer Science & Management School of MUST. She provides support to Oko in his role as Finance Director. Nobody has ever seen Usuhuu without a huge smile on her face. In her spare time she enjoys reading and also she could not live without music& dance with her friends. |
![]() | Naranbat - Finance Officer Naranbat joined Projects Abroad finance team in August 2008 after graduating Mongolian National University School of Economical studies as a finance manager. He provides support to Oko in his role as Finance Director. He's a good team worker, and also very good table tennis player. |

She provides support to Oko in his role as Finance Director. She loves travelling to many different places. She likes listening to music, and hiking. |

Although she is just nineteen, she has already graduated Institute of Finance and Economics, Mongolia. In this way she could help her family. She loves music very much and also likes to dance. In her leisure time she enjoys reading fairy tales. |
![]() | Lucian Arion - Head of IT Lucian is based in our IT Office in Brasov, Romania. Since he joined Projects Abroad in February 2005 he is constantly trying to improve our flow of information using IT. He is interested in science, politics and business and enjoys spending time with his wife Elena Loredana. |
![]() | Szilard Gyorgy - Senior IT Manager Szilard joined Projects Abroad in 2003. He manages the Romanian IT team and is primarily responsible for developing and managing our online database system and computer network worldwide. |
![]() | Ciprian Radu - Head of Programming Department Ciprian joined Projects Abroad in April 2006. He is responsible for maintaining our online database and creating our new operational system. He enjoys playing billiards and swimming. He also loves parkour (free running). |
![]() | Marius Ovesea - Web Developer Marius joined Projects Abroad in August 2007. He assists Lucian with web design and development. He is passionate about climbing mountains, enjoys driving and likes listening to a wide variety of music. |

![]() | Salvador Orozco (Chava) - Graphic Designer Chava is based in our Mexico office and assists Tonio with web design and particularly enjoys developing new web technologies. Chava used to be part of the Mexico rollerblade team, but now likes calmer activities like spending time with his young daughter. |
![]() | Senthil Kumar Chairmakkani - Administrator KC Kumar has been a member of the Administration team since June 2007. He previously worked as an office manager in Tuticorin before joining Projects Abroad. In his spare time, he enjoys reading crime and detective novels as well as playing cricket. |

![]() | Blanca Fernandez - North American Travel Assistant Blanca has spent all her life in Cochabamba, Bolivia and has done a variety of different jobs including teaching, translating and sales before joining the Projects Abroad Travel Team in January 2011. She studied Linguistics at university and loves spending time with her family especially her young son David. |
![]() | Alejandra Estrada - North American Travel Coordinator Alejandra began working with Projects Abroad in July 2006. She was born in Cochabamba and comes from a large family. She studied Arts and Music at University and soon after graduating travelled abroad to teach English at a Red Cross Refugee camp in Belgium. Alejandra speaks 5 languages, English, Spanish, French, Dutch and a little bit of Russian. She is currently studying Linguistics at the University in Cochabamba and enjoys reading, writing, music, photography and travelling. |
![]() | Ana Silvia Ramos M. - North American Travel Assistant Ana Silvia was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She began working with Projects Abroad in 2004 as a student teacher through the agreement we have with the Universidad Mayor de San Simón, teaching volunteers Spanish. After finishing her studies, she began working full time in May 2007. Ana Silvia enjoys meeting new people and travelling. |
![]() | Tatiana Muñoz Rocha - North American Travel Assistant Tatiana was born in Potosi and now lives in Cochabamba. She has a degree in Linguistics. She has previously worked as a receptionist and an administration assistant in a Chinese company. She joined Projects Abroad in January 2012 and loves meeting people from other countries. |
![]() | Charles Prabhu Vetrirajan - Administrator Charles joined the Projects Abroad administrative team in May 2005. He answers volunteers' queries on visas and issues regarding visa documents at the appropriate times. He also assists with invoices, checklists and application acceptances. He enjoys playing and watching cricket, listening to music and watching movies. |
![]() | Ligaya Kaluarachchi - Alumni Manager Ligaya, a native from the Philippines, became a member of our Sri Lankan team in January 2005. She moved to Sri Lanka in 2001 after marrying a Sri Lankan. As the Alumni Manager Ligaya manages the Social Media Centre and coordinates alumni related activities. She is in touch with volunteers when they finish their placements and helps develop our alumni volunteer network. Ligaya enjoys spending time with her family and is kept busy looking after her cheeky four year old son. |
![]() | Shakya Lakmal Wijeratne - Alumni Assistant Lakmal (Shakee) joined the Projects Abroad team in April 2009. He is a B.A. graduate from University of Kelaniya. He has volunteered locally as a Liaison Officer in several International Conferences, Meetings and Sporting Events. Before joining Projects Abroad he worked with a local NGO. He likes to go out with friends in his leisure time. He works mostly with UK Alumni under the guidance of the Alumni Manager. |

Having graduated in Management, he worked for over 2 years for a humanitarian organization as a program manager. He has attended many training programs on leadership, community development and project management. At Projects Abroad Manjula works on the various Facebook groups created by each destination, on internet forums and helps Ligaya with other alumni tasks. He likes music, reading and travelling and has a keen interest in politics! |
![]() | Nadeesha Ranawaka - Alumni Assistant Nadeesha joined Projects Abroad in April 2010, working for the newly established Social Media Centre. She liaises with the Social Managers in the Projects Abroad destinations and is also responsible for monitoring and promoting the mytripblog site. She recently completed her exams for her IT degree and is currently working on her final year project. She has also completed higher studies in Diplomacy and World affairs and is very interested in international law. Nadeesha is really enjoying learning French. |

Having completed her degree in English and International Studies, she is now reading for her Postgraduate Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies. She gets in touch with volunteers after they finish their placements and helps to develop the UK Alumni Network. She loves to spend her leisure time traveling, reading and listening to music. She is also planning to visit Machu Picchu and go bungee jumping one day! |

When Michelle is not developing and expanding the Danish Alumni network she enjoys experiencing the world, reading books, taking photos and meeting new and interesting people. |

During her leisure time and when in a creative mood, she enjoys writing poems while listening to music for inspiration. She also loves dining out and trying out new recipes at home. It's her big dream to travel around the world and also to further her studies in psychology. |

![]() | Scott McQuarrie - Director, Projects Abroad PRO Scott grew up in Glasgow and studied Sport and Sociology at Edinburgh University. He joined the UK team in September 2006 after volunteering with Projects Abroad in Ghana where he undertook a sport development project. Scott now manages the skilled and qualified arm of Projects Abroad for graduates, professionals and retired seniors which is called Projects Abroad PRO. |
![]() | Harry Kent - Programme Advisor Harry joined the team in 2006 when he spent 5 months working on our conservation project in Botswana. Before he had time to catch his breath he was whisked off to Ghana where he worked over the summer. In his spare time Harry loves to listen to live music and particularly enjoys outdoor activities. When he's not in faraway places, Harry talks to potential volunteers about our projects and attends events at schools and universities across the UK. |

Heidi has traveled extensively and spent time in many of our destinations including Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, Tanzania, Thailand, China, Israel and Jamaica and has experience of many different projects. |

In 2008, as part of her gap year Jessica did a 2 month teaching placement in Liberia, Costa Rica with Projects Abroad, and had the time of her life! In her spare time she loves travelling and socialising..! |

Overseas Recruitment Team
![]() | Will Pashley - in Australia Will first joined as a volunteer teacher in Moldova in 1992. Since that eye opening experience he has gone through a variety of jobs and travels and now runs the Australia office from Adelaide. He is a regular sportsman who is frequently found with a cricket bat in his hand. |
![]() | Mikkel Bo Rasmussen - in Denmark Mikkel has been working for Projects Abroad since April 2010. He has travelled widely in Africa, Latin America and South-East Asia. He has also volunteered in Cambodia and studied in Vietnam. |
![]() | Frank Seidel - in France Frank heads our recruitment office in France. He has 15 years of volunteering experience and has edited a guidebook on conservation placements since 1991. A native German, Frank has now settled in Grenoble where he enjoys hiking and ski-touring in the French Alps. |
![]() | Michael Harms - in Germany Michael has been working for Projects Abroad in Germany since 2003. He has recenty visited our projects in Ghana and China. Michael studied German literature and spends most of his free time reading fiction and playing soccer in a semi-professional team. |
![]() | Laurens Vos - in Holland Laurens coordinates our recruitment in the Netherlands . He originally joined Projects Abroad as a volunteer in South Africa . In his spare time Laurens enjoys photography. He also loves spending time with his newly born daughter Philien. |
![]() | Simona Eco - in Italy Simona has volunteering and working experience in different countries of Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. She is now back in Italy where she coordinates with Serena our new recruitment office, opened on August 2007 in the beautiful city of Naples. |
![]() | Kana Ueki - Director for Japan Kana first joined as volunteer journalist in India in the Summer of 2008. She loves travelling in her spare time and learning about other foreign cultures. Now she runs the Japan office from Yokohama. When she has time Kana spends her time diving in the beautiful oceans near the small islands in Japan. |
