• Sunday, July 19th – Saturday, August 1st
Volunteers on this project will dedicate their time to improving the lives of children in a local orphanage, working in summer camps or participating in community projects on the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica.
Volunteers at the orphanage will help look after the children as they go through their daily routines including bathing, feeding and care. You will have plenty of time to organize games and other activities with the children. You will also help with the much needed renovating of the orphanage. This will include plastering and painting the building, planting gardens and painting murals if you have some artistic talent.

This will give volunteers a chance to share their culture and learn different aspects of the Jamaican culture.
Volunteers at the community project will play an integral role in renovating homes for the poor -- especially those with small children and elderly individuals. This includes painting, gardening, making pillows, sheets, curtains and wall paintings to improve the general living conditions. Volunteers will get a chance to interact with their peers through community social events including sports, games night, Jamaica night and cookouts.
On the weekend you will go on a trip to one of the island’s famous beaches or caves, or go rafting down the river. This will be coupled with a rich immersion into the music, dance, food and other cultural aspects for which Jamaica is known.

Care & Community Work in Sri Lanka
• Sunday, July 19th – Saturday, August 1st
• Sunday, August 2nd – Saturday, August 15th
Based in many small towns along the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, south of Colombo, and in the mountain top hill station town of Kandy - care work in Sri Lanka is a multifaceted experience offering an enormous variety of choice.
However, all the work has one basic requirement in common: a love of working with children.
You will work with your fellow volunteers in orphanages and day care centers helping children learn the alphabet or organizing activities like arts and crafts. In the afternoons, volunteers assist in numerous areas with the children -- from helping with homework to organizing and playing sports and games to reading with a child individually.
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to visit a Tsunami affected area. Work has been ongoing since the Tsunami hit in 2004 and thankfully most of the affected families have been re-housed. Still, a lot of work is needed to regenerate local communities and provide extra educational support to children affected by the tragedy. These projects will give you a great chance to continue the good work done by our past volunteers. You might be helping with basic conversational English lessons or organizing a sports day where children from local communities can get involved.
Depending on the weather during the weekend, we will either take you rafting or to one of the many beaches in the region for water sports.
