Continue Volunteering

Volunteers and children in Mexico

Many alumni find that the experience of volunteering overseas was a very rewarding experience, and they are eager to continue the work they started even after they return home. In the past, Projects Abroad alumni have started campaigns to raise funds for a hospital, school or orphanage in which they worked overseas, and this can be a rewarding way to continue to donate to your placement after your return home.

Another way to stay involved is to volunteer at a similar institution at home. There are many organizations, soup kitchens, orphanages and agencies in the US and Canada who are looking for the help of volunteers. While the experience that you have at one of these won't be the same as your time overseas, it is a nice way to continue working for the welfare of others.
