Medicine in Bolivia

When you arrive at Cochabamba Airport, you will be met by a member of our Projects Abroad Bolivia team. It's a small airport, and once you've collected your luggage and gone through immigration, look out for the Projects Abroad sign.

Volunteering in Bolivia: Orientation and Induction

One of our staff members will introduce you to Cochabamba, showing you where to find an internet café, how to phone home, where to catch a bus or a taxi from, and how to locate the Projects Abroad Bolivia office.

You will then have some time to relax with your host family who will be keen to settle you in and make you feel at home. Usually on the following day a member of staff will take you to work to introduce you to your project supervisor and you will finalise your timetable. Most volunteers have a short 10 minute bus journey to work; Projects Abroad will cover the cost of transport to and from your work placement where required.’

If you have any questions or problems, the Bolivia team are on the end of the phone 24 hours a day, or you can call into the office during office hours.

"I met so many amazing people in Bolivia. They're really friendly and want to show you everything and take you everywhere"
