Where to Volunteer in Africa
Africa is an incredibly diverse continent, with awe-inspiring natural wonders and a rich cultural heritage. We do volunteer work in Africa in several countries, so we’ll definitely help you find the project that’s right for you.
Volunteer work with lions in Africa is very popular in Kenya. We also offer other African conservation in experiences in countries like Madagascar and Botswana.
We also prioritise the educational development of children. You can help children in Africa and work in childcare centres in countries like Tanzania and South Africa. Or, teach English or sports in local schools in Ghana or Senegal. You can also help build important infrastructure like schools on our Building Projects in West and East Africa.
In each country we work in, we’ve identified the needs of the local communities and the challenges they face. Our projects all work toward supporting sustainable development and helping people overcome these challenges.

Volunteering in African Orphanages
For many years, we had volunteers working in orphanages and care homes, both in Africa and around the world. Our volunteers have worked towards improving the lives and opportunities of each child at these global placements.
However, our focus has shifted: we now only send volunteers to places like kindergartens, rather than orphanages. We believe that a stable family environment is best for a child’s development, and we do everything we can to support this. This means we’ve stopped sending anyone to volunteer in orphanages in Africa, and everywhere else we work.
Can I support development through an internship in Africa?
Absolutely! We have a number of internships in Africa for you to take part in. On a South Africa internship, for example, you can help at a human rights clinic and provide legal advice, or empower communities on an International Development Project.
You also have the opportunity to do a Medical Internship in Africa and learn from local professionals. Join one of our teams in Tanzania, Ghana, or Kenya.
Get in touch with us for more information on our internships in Africa, and how we can fulfill all of your internship requirements.
