Our Projects are driven by the passion and commitment of our staff.


In our office in Adelaide, our Head Office in the UK, and in our teams all around the world, we care about volunteering. This is because so many of us have been volunteers ourselves. Our CEO, Greg Thomson, is one of them. Since 2016, he took over the day-to-day running of Projects Abroad from our founder, Peter Slowe.


Greg is supported by a highly experienced core team in the UK, and by committed and passionate Project and Recruitment staff in countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, Australasia and the Pacific Islands. We are a multi-national organisation that works across language, cultural and geographic lines.

We’re here to help

Once connected, we’ll help you pick the best volunteer, internship, or study abroad experience for you. 

The first person you’ll meet is your Project Expert.

Your Project Expert will be in regular contact with you, from the moment you start exploring your options until you apply. They'll share important information, answer your questions, and be your main point of contact.

Next, is your Destination Expert.

Once your booking is confirmed, your Destination Expert will step in to offer you a personalised service. They will be drawing on decades of experience arranging travel for thousands of participants. 

They have up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of where you’re going and know the best ways to get there. 

Think of them as your personal trip advisor, ready to answer any questions you (or your parents, partner, children) may have.

Finally, when you arrive at your destination, you’ll meet the Local Team.

On arrival, our local staff take over. They'll meet you at the airport, take you to your accommodation, and make sure you know how to get around and what to expect during your stay.

During your time away, they’ll be available 24/7 to support you (and in the case of Teen Programmes, provide round-the-clock supervision).
