Projects Abroad volunteers work on a project with primary school students at a school in Apia, Samoa

Immerse yourself in traditional Samoan village life by joining our Care & Community High School Project. Become a part of the community by helping raise and educate local children while working on ongoing community projects that provide long-term benefits for everyone in the area.

You’ll give local teachers at kindergartens, schools and care centres a helping hand by looking after and caring for the children. You’ll also have the opportunity to put any skills or interests you have to use. Whether it’s arts and crafts or teaching games and songs to the children, your suggestions and contribution will be welcome.

Your involvement in the community doesn’t end there. You’ll live with a local host family, and be involved in all aspects of village life, from meetings with the chief to celebrating important events. You’ll also be involved in ongoing projects, from maintaining community buildings to helping with local sustainability initiatives to joining a local drama group. On weekends you’ll tour the island and the beautiful coastline for which Samoa is famous.
